Tributaries, a family-owned American company, is a leading provider of high-performance and high quality Digital & Analog Audio Interconnects, Speaker Cables, AC Power Products and HDMI Cables.
In 1991, the year Tributaries was founded, the concept of designing cables based upon sound scientific principles was considered extremely radical. Then as today, many audio and video interconnect companies described their product’s performance with opinions and marketing hype masquerading as scientific fact. This convinced Joe Perfito that it was time to start an interconnect cable company whose products would be designed based on scientific principles and tested to the highest standards of quality control.

After fifteen years working for McIntosh Laboratory, Inc., another American manufacturer of the highest quality audio components, Joe developed a passion for the design and manufacturing of quality products. Along with his knowledge of quality manufacturing, sales and marketing, and a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, Joe Perfito started Gordon J Gow Technologies, Inc. for the design; manufacturing and responsible marketing of the highest quality audio and digital interconnect cables. The company’s philosophical inspiration was the late Gordon J Gow, President of McIntosh, who was renowned for his commitment to excellence. The TRIBUTARIES name was chosen as a Tribute to Mr. Gow.
Over the last twenty plus years Joe has strived for continuous product improvements. In 2013 a new line of audio cables was developed exclusively for Tributaries by celebrated cable designer Jay Victor. Using some of the design principles from Clarus Audiophile cables, it took 3 years to complete the engineering and cosmetic design to offer this comprehensive family of audio cables to the market.
The Tributaries cable collection is complemented by painstakingly meticulous hand-craftsmanship. Every interconnect cable except for HDMI, USB, Power and Optical is hand-made in our Orlando, Florida facility by skilled technicians. Every Tributaries HDMI cable is hand tested using an 18Gbps generator and display while every Digital, Audio, speaker & Power product goes thru a strict multi-level quality control process to ensure every product will perform as designed. Tributaries offers a Lifetime Limited warranty on every cable.
